| The Maverick Foundation's "Good Citizen Award Program" seeks to recognize one special eighth grader from each Catholic Elementary School selected by either the principal or eighth grade teacher who is an exemplary role model, regularly demonstrates respect for his or her classmates and teachers, is willing to help others, and has a worthy academic record especially regarding conduct and effort. |

| An eighth grader who has overcome a significant obstacle such as an illness or a difficult family situation to achieve his or her goals while demonstrating a positive attitude will also be eligible. |
|
| Each deserving student will receive a Good Citizen Medal with certificate and a Maverick Foundation tee shirt at their graduation in recognition of their character and values that will be presented by the appropriate school official. |
